"I am passionate about helping physicians, especially women physicians, build lasting and successful businesses so that they can prioritize themselves, improve the health of their communities, and live really well!"

Dr. Jalan Burton has over 15 years of experience in pediatric primary care, complex care, children with special needs, public health, youth development, and managed care.

During residency at the University of North Carolina, Dr. J was selected for a competitive teaching and leadership program. Her passion for providing excellent patient care and teaching continued during her time in academic medicine and private practice. After working at a federally qualified health center and then in an urban private practice, she became increasingly frustrated by the red tape. She saw her colleagues and teammates experiencing significant burnout and attempts to make changes were met with resistance from management. She knew she deserved better and so did her patients!

In 2019, Dr. J launched her house call direct primary care practice. She began investing in coaching and began formal training in medical student coaching and served as a coach for several years. She is deeply committed to ensuring that physicians have access to high quality business resources developed by diverse voices.

Dr. J is passionate about helping physician entrepreneurs build businesses that improve the world for patients and physicians alike!

When not practicing medicine, Dr. J spends time with her husband and their 3 preschool and school aged children.
